Morrison's FIRST Softball Practice

It's finally here! The day has finally arrived! Morrison started SOFTBALL. If you can't tell her mommy is so excited! I love softball. I played softball from probably 5 years old to 17 years old! I LOVE IT! I can't say that I was really that great but I wasn't that bad either! I played second base and sometime 3rd base.

Oh, yeah, back to Morrison's first softball practice. Well, let me take you back a day or two. Sunday after church we went and had lunch and then went straight to Dick's Sporting Goods. You would of thought it was Christmas for me and Shawn. I am thinking that we were probably more excited than she was. Shawn was really serious about all that "she" needed to have in order to play ball. He took forever to pick out a glove. Not me and Morrison, we went straight to the pink ones! It's a good thing that daddy was with us or we would of had a pink glove that by no means would of held the ball that they play with! We went for style and cutest, daddy went for what she needed to be awesome! So, finally, daddy choose the glove that would be the winner. Then onto the bat, once again, Morrison and mommy choose cutest and style and guess what we won! She got the cutest pink and white bat that we had ever saw! So, then it's onto bags to hold of her equipment. Of course, back to pink, she got a pink and black addidas bag, too cute! Now, it's time to choose some practice balls, once again hot pink. We then go to pick out some cleats. Of course, once again, we bee line to the pink and black shoes. But, then we spot the Nike cleats that have the color tabs that you can change the Nike swish too, so we definitely needed to try these on because we are not sure what color her uniform will be and we want to match, for sure! But to our sadness and deep depression, they don't have them in her size, a whopping 11! So, we have to "settle" for the pink and black addidas. Can you see our color theme! Pink! So, we have our glove, bat, equipment bag and shoes! And helmet, she already has one, guess what color, PINK!

After our items are paid for, mommy decides that since, it's her first practice, she must have a new outfit to practice in, so we go and she picks out new practice pants and shirt. The pants she picked out were gray, they are just like the big boys use in basketball for their warm up pants. Too cute! Then, once again, she picked out a pink t-shirt to match the gray warm ups.

So, since she has practice tomorrow, it's still Sunday, we take her to the field that she will be practicing on so that she will be familiar with it. I wanted to make sure that she knew what the bases were so that she didn't look like a dork. We pull up and we get out of the car, Coop is really excited to be there and he's trying to get her "equipment", she firmly puts her hands on her hips and tells him that "he will not be playing football with her today"! This is the moment that Shawn and I knew we had our hands full! So, anyway, we go and we throw some balls to her to practice hitting! SHE WAS GREAT. She nailed that ball she's really a hard hitter.

Next day, Monday, it's time for practice. She's look adorable in her new outfit with all her equipment. Of course, I didn't take any pics, I didn't want any of the other parents thinking that I am the psycho mom, even though you all know that I am. She did really good! There were twenty 5 and 6 year old girls out there and 5 coaches. They are going to split the girls and have two teams. The lead coach was doing most of talking and so I am guessing and hoping that Morrison thought she needed to only listen to him cause at one point, one of the coaches was standing behind Morrison, she told her to throw the ball to the pitcher if she got it, Morrison put her hand on her hip and the other one in the air and told the lady that she already had a coach, but thanks! I thought, Oh, dang, I did not just hear that! I was so embarrassed. Afterwards, I apologized to the lady and told her that Morrison didn't know that she could have more than one coach, she said it was fine, she understood! Still pretty embarrassing, I told Morrison that she was also the coach and not to be rude.

Next practice is Friday night and daddy gets to go! Can't wait to see this!! He's going to be worse than mommy! He says that he's just going to let the coaches do the coaching and he's gonna watch, we'll see how long that lasts. I remember last summer when she played soccer, he did more sideline coaching to Morrison than the coach did.
