Nursing Home Visit

Every holiday, I take the kids to a nursing home in our town to hand out gifts to the residents. We started it last year at Halloween. I took the day off work and we got their costumes on and went to the their daycare party, well it was over in like 30 minutes.

It was like 2 oclock in the afternoon, so I thought I am not going to take them home and get them undressed and take their makeup off, so I called the nursing home and talked to the director, I know her, and asked if I could take the kids there to trick or treat to the residents, she said she wasn't sure if all the residents had any candy, I was like, no we are going to pass out candy to them. She was so excited. So, we did and let me tell you, it was a blessing!

Those little residents just loved and loved on my babies! I cried! They were just so excited to see little kids!

Christmas, we did the same thing, they made christmas cards from construction paper (the kids daycare helped out and made some for us too) and handed out candy canes to each resident and sang christmas carols (well tried to sing)! Two of my best friends joined us this time. Sarah has two little boys (Joey and Jake) and Sherry has a little boy (Corbin) and a little girl (McKenzie, who by the way, Cooper is in love with).

So, at easter we went and handed out easter eggs filled with candy to the residents and look what Coopfound! He was more excited about the cat then the little residents this time! Sarah and her two little guys got to join us too! Sherry grandfather passed away so they couldn't join us this time.

"Days make up the quantity but moments make up the quality. And more than that, it is the moments which actually make us and mould us!"
